Angel and Devil
3D Character Design
These are two characters that I created as part of a personal project.
I designed, modeled, textured, and rigged both of these characters.

Angel
This is my final angel design and some poses that the rig is capable of!
My goal was to achieve a vintage, doll-like look. I also wanted them to have minimal features, but still challenge myself to create an expressive rig.
Angel Process
Modeling
I began with sculpting the angel head in ZBrush, and then brought it into Maya to retopologize and model the rest of the body.
Texturing
I used Substance Painter to texture the angel. To achieve the creepy doll look, I experimented with materials like wax, plastic and fabric.
Rigging
I used a skeletal rig and blend shapes to create very fine control over the angel's legs, feet, dress, and eyes.
Devil
This is my second character! For this one I went with a more advanced rig, including arms, hands, and a tail. (And of course, a goofy mustache)
Poses coming soon!
Devil Process
Modeling and Texturing
Rigging
I used a similar pipeline as the angel for the devil, using Z Brush, Substance, and Maya to model and texture the devil.
I created a skeletal rig to have fine control over everything, from the legs to the tail to the hands. The arms include an FK IK switch, and the eyes are able to blink and change pupil size.
